Those of you who know me well know that I really like music. All kinds of music from all different time periods. But especially Jesus Music. The music from the mid 60s to the mid 70s that was about Jesus, for Jesus to praise Jesus. Uh, hence the name...
Anyway, I tell you that to tell you this. For the better part of 2009 and 2010 I wake up almost every morning with a song on my mind. Sometimes it will be the same song for a couple of days but usually it is a new (old) song. And it has been such a gift, such a blessing and its been really fun.
Yesterday someone asked my how I could make it through the daily struggle with cancer. Well it just so happened that the song that was in my head on Sunday was 'Sitting at the Feet of Jesus'.
{{Not really a 'Jesus Music' song (time period wise) but exactly Jesus Music - lyrics wise. The lyrics are below and I'll put a link to the Gaither Vocal Band singing it. But the song that was in my head was from a 1971 group called the Young & Free. I think they were sponsored by Campus Crusade for Christ. (and if I was savvy enough I'd attach that version -- -- but I aint)}}
But my answer to how I got through the daily struggle with cancer was just that -- sitting at the feet of Jesus.
Sitting at the Feet of Jesus - (written by someone with the initials J.H.)
Sitting at the feet of Jesus, Oh, what words I hear Him say!
Happy place! so near, so precious! May it find me there each day.
Sitting at the feet of Jesus, I would look upon the past;
For His love has been so gracious, It has won my heart at last.
Sitting at the feet of Jesus, Where can mortal be more blest?
There I lay my sins and sorrows And, when weary, find sweet rest.
Sitting at the feet of Jesus, There I love to weep and pray,
While I from His fullness gather Grace and comfort every day.
Bless me, O my Savior, bless me, As I sit low at Thy feet.
Oh, look down in love upon me; Let me see Thy face so sweet.
Give me, Lord, the mind of Jesus; Make me holy as He is.
May I prove I’ve been with Jesus, Who is all my righteousness.

Luke 8:35 Then people went out to see what had happened, and they came to Jesus and found the man from whom the demons had gone, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed and in his right mind..... ESV
