Well we finally got to see the oncologist. Apparently about the time that I was getting my last infusion, Dr. Dugan was having a stroke. He is almost back to 100% but he still is not totally stable on his feet. He went back to work a month sooner than his doctors wanted him to but he enjoys the hunt too much to sit on the sidelines. He pursues cancer like dogs chasing a fox.
Oh, the news -- -- -- -- EVERYTHING looks good. The CT-scan was clean and the blood work showed my CEA numbers at less than .5. Less than point 5 for a colon cancer survivor is borderline miraculous. Praise God from whom all blessings flow!!!
Stage 3 colon cancer that moves into the liver is fairly serious. So we will continue to do a blood test every 3 months and a CT-scan every six months. At least into the foreseeable future.
He would like for me to keep the port in for 2 years which would be January of 2012. Hopefully that will be the next and last surgery. :O)
God is good all the time!!
