Easter

Our family gathered together this morning to celebrate Easter. It was so wonderful to look around the table and see the faces of our children and their loved ones. Everyone was home. In this busy world it is rare to find all of us in one place. As their families grow, we know these times together will become more precious and harder to pull off. And yet, because of Easter we have eternity together.
In America we seem to have forgotten what Easter is supposed to be about. We have made it about colored eggs, bunnies, baskets, hunting for eggs and candy. When Easter should be about Jesus Christ conquering death and making a way for us to connect with the Father. We have made Easter a religious day but Christ made it a relationship day. Because of His sacrifice He provided a way for us to have a relationship with God.
How about you, is Easter just another religious holiday?? Or have you given your heart to Jesus and do you have a relationship with God??
Just imagine, the time will come when we will gather in heaven, without time constraints or Alzheimer's or cancer. Our time on this earth may be short but we have something much greater to look forward to.
