So I thought that I would update things. I had surgery, this past Wednesday, on the 'dark side of the moon'. :O) The surgeon said that only one muscle, not two, was involved so he expected me to do quite well. There has not been much pain just a pinch every once in a while. And from beginning to end I believe that God has been involved. Things are going far better than anyone in the medical realm thought they would. I've said it before and I'll continue to say it, I really appreciate your prayers. Several years ago Bill & Gloria Gaither wrote a musical for kids and in it they sang a song about miracles. One line in the song goes, "I anticipate the inevitable supernatural intervention of God. I believe in miracles....". Pam and I have used this simple little definition of miracles for many years. And though I don't believe that any of this would fall under the 'enough of a miracle to qualify for sainthood' type miracle. I do believe that we can trace the hand of God and His involvement. And isn't that what most of us are looking for...........to know that God is involved in our lives.
All that being said, I did way too much yesterday. And today I am wiped out and bone tired. So is Pam and so are Dave & Kim. We do catering 'gigs' once in a while and we had a wedding reception to do today. My surgery had been scheduled several weeks ago and one of the other cohorts in BBQ was going to take the smoker and do the meat. But Doug went to Baltimore for a vacation and while getting directions from the concierge fell backwards down a flight of stairs breaking his leg just below the knee. (He'll do anything to get out of work.....:O) So he spent the better part of his 'vacation' in Johns Hopkins Hospital. Meanwhile back at the cooker -- Dave & I spent all day Friday smoking 10 Boston Butts and 6 briskets. Anyway, we are all tired but the two meats & two sides got delivered on time. Butt I have decided to take tomorrow and act like I had surgery 3 days ago. I'm going to try and make Pam act like it too.

Psalm 17:6-8 I call upon you, for you will answer me, O God; incline your ear to me; hear my words. Wondrously show your steadfast love, O Savior of those who seek refuge from their adversaries at your right hand. Keep me as the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings, ESV
