Or this could be called, "The Frustration of Fatigue".
First there was the after surgery fatigue. 'You just had major surgery it's gonna take a while to get your strength back' kind of fatigue. You can do about one thing then you have to sit down.
Just about the time that you start to feel up to getting some stuff done then they start you on Chemo. Now here is a whole new ballgame of fatigue. This fatigue isn't -- I worked out in the yard all day --- kind of tired. This is a sick tired. A sick fatigue. It is a whole new level of fatigue that I had not experienced before Chemo. And all things being equal, I'd just a soon not have experienced it...... You can be going along just fine and get blindsided by this stuff that just 'sorta sucks the life outa ya'. It's not way up there on the 'fun' meter. There are a couple other things that I blame on Chemo that I'll mention here. One is really weird dreams. You know the, 'I don't wanna go back to sleep because I don't want to continue that freaky dream'. kind of weird dreams. The other thing is that it messes up your clock. I was wide awake at 4:47 a.m. That's like 6 hours too soon.
So we cooked on Saturday. And I use that 'we' in a very generous way. My friends pretty much carried me all day long. I, uh, well I sorta, ah, ---- I supervised. You know, 'those who can do and those who can't supervise'. I was able to do a few things but they did the bulk of the work. I dealt with fatigue most of the day. But our block sure smelled good!!!!!
Next week we are cooking for Harvest Bible Chapel North Indy. We are having a Sunday dinner in the park. So if you want some pulled pork come visit us at Harvest and we'll tell you where to go for dinner. :O) http://www.harvestnorthindy.org/
Round 3 of Chemo starts Tuesday. For some reason they can't give Chemo on holidays?!?!?!?! I have been told by more than one 'white coat' that Chemo is progressive, that the side-effects continue to build. So the prayer request would be that Chemo for me would just stay even keeled and not build and get worse and worse and worse........
Thanks to all of you who are praying. I really really do appreciate your time before the Throne of God!!
God is good all the time!
