Things I have learned from cancer -- -- -- -- -- 2

The number of times that I have had people say, "I wanted to call but I didn't know if I should". This experience has taught me --->> CALL. Way too often cancer patients are sitting around bored and frustrated. Bored with T.V., computer, movies and books. And frustrated because they don't have the energy to do anything but T.V., computer, movies and books. So whatever it is that you are feeling that maybe you ought to do --->> DO IT. Make the call, write the note, send the e-mail or post on the blog.

From now on I am going to make the call and trust that if 'they' are too tired to talk that 'they' will be honest with me and tell me. I did. Two different people called, one right after the other, and I told them both that I was very tired and that I was just laying down for a nap. I slept and they called back later. (And God Bless You for calling back!!!)

Here is my thought --->> concern for the patient will prompt us to call (or write...) and concern for ourselves will stop us.

Thank you!!! To all of you who have written notes & cards, who have brought meals, who have stopped by and who have called. It makes the process easier.

Proverbs 11:25 Whoever brings blessing will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered.ESV

Jim and Pam,

I found your blog through another blog and wanted to let you know that after reading your posts I am so inspired by your trust in the Lord through this "adventure". I'll keep you in my prayers and check back often.
