An interesting twist of pain

A couple of weeks ago, when I came home from having the tumor removed, I did not take any pain medication. What they gave me at the hospital was enough and when it 'ran its course' I did not take any of the additional pain medication that they had sent home.
I have to admit that I did not give this port implant enough credit. I thought it would be a 'piece of cake'. And the surgery itself was quick and easy. But the pain has required a lot more attention than I was prepared to give. In fact I have been taking vicodin to help manage the pain. Ah, but this too shall pass. :O)

What about you?? What is it in your life that should be getting a lot more attention than you were prepared to give?? Many times we casually acknowledge that there is a God. Perhaps the Creator of all things, the God of the universe deserves a bit more attention as in Psalm 63.
Psalm 63:1 O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for you, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.
I'm thinking that He who died for me is worthy of this kind of attention.

I must mention how grateful I am to all the folks at Indianapolis Air Route Traffic Control Center who donated Sick Leave to me. Your generosity is humbling and I appreciate it very very much. It has made this time easier to deal with and given me time to pray, plan and heal. Again, thank you very much and hopefully there will be a bbq party in your future. :O)

God is good all the time!!

Hmm...even in the midst of your pain, you still take time to help us examine our own lives. The true sign of servants! You are so right. I think, too, that sometimes God allows pain into our lives because that is the only way He gets our full and undivided attention. Sad to say but that has certainly been true in my life.

We lift you and Pam up daily before the throne of God!
