Normal??

A frequent question, the last couple of weeks, is, "so are you back to normal?". The short answer is 'no'. The long answer is that it takes months, maybe even years, for the chemo chemicals to work its way out of your system. And some of the damage done by the chemicals may never get back to 'normal'. They gave me a drug in 2008 that left my finger tips and toes numb. The fingers, numbness wise, are pretty much back to normal. But the toes are still in and out of varying degrees of numbness (neuropathy).
The side-effects that I have been dealing with for the last few months persist. Hopefully, they will go away quickly. But God has been faithful and nothing that we have had to deal with has been beyond what we could bear. There were times that I was not sure that I was going to hold up but we did. And hopefully, prayerfully, we are through the toughest parts.
Our immediate goal is to get through March without needing major surgery. (Starting in 2007, there has been a major surgery every March.)

God is good all the time!!
