Tomorrow I go under the knife. Surgery is scheduled for 8:00 a.m. and I would appreciate everyones prayers. I was asked several times at church today if I'm ready and the answer is 'Yes' and 'No'. I'm ready for the surgery. If the anesthesiologist does his/her job correctly, I will be asleep during the surgery and won't mind the perforated goings on too much. If something goes awry (the stoic surgeon said this occurs 1 out of 25 times in this type of surgery [it just occurred to me that I should have asked the surgeon what my number was...1, 2, 15, 22. :o]
sorry;o) then it is just a one way ticket to be with Jesus and those who have gone before. If God determines that it's not my time yet then I'll have 'quite a recovery' to work through. Boston Butts, 3 briskets, 1 corned beef becoming pastrami, 1 brisket becoming pastrami and a beef tenderloin. Good food and sore muscles. It was a bit like the walking wounded. Doug on crutches, Dave hiding from kidney stones and me with cancer. Here is a picture of the three of us, Dorothy (the smoker) and my bald head.

Praying, praying and more praying. You are on my mind constantly. Brian will be over there first thing in the morning to pray with you guys before you leave. We love you both. Amidst a full day, spiritually I'll be on my knees for you all day.
