Walking and sleeping

Today was an exhausting day for Jim. He was up walking twice today along with sitting up and eating real food! All of that activity wore him out and he slept soundly most of the day. They removed his catheter and that improved his spirits. He still has an IV in his neck artery and one in each arm, as well as a surgical drain. They are giving him insulin(belly shots) and checking his blood sugars too. He is not diabetic, but keeping the blood sugars "even" aids in healing. I am sure he feels like a pin cushion! I am hoping for removal of more tethers tomorrow.
Our daughter-in law, Kellie teaches 3rd grade. Her kids made cards for Jim and we had a great time reading their interpretation of James 1: 2-5. What a delight! As one little student wrote-Keep on persevering Mr. Ellis!

James 1:2-5
2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. 4 Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. NIV
