Jim's surgery went well. They did not find any surprises tumor-wise. They removed the right lobe of his liver and took the tumor on the left lobe out with a wedge removal. They also found a gallstone and so removed his gallbladder. He is still in surgical recovery waiting for a room in ICU. I only got to see him twice today- he is in a lot of pain, and they are very strict about visits until he is moved into the ICU. I hope to get back to the hospital about 8:00 tomorrow.
I cannot give God enough praise for His help through this time. This has been the most difficult week of our lives, and God's presence has held us every step of the way. This adventure is not over, and we know there are many more hard days ahead, but we are absolutely sure that God will be with us all the way.
It occurs to me that we often state that God is good, and He is. I do feel it necessary to point out that God is Good regardless of the outcome of this adventure. That is to say, God is good. It is His nature, His character. There is nothing bad in Him. Ever. No matter what. He laid down His life for us.
John 10:11-1511 I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. 12 He who is a hired hand and not a shepherd, who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees, and the wolf snatches them and scatters them. 13 He flees because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep. 14 I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me, 15 just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheepESV

We're praising God with you for a good surgery and will continue to pray for Jim's recovery and for Pam's strength. God is so very honored in your responses. Thank you for this post, Pam.
