Here we are, we made it to tomorrow. My wife has a piece of art work in our master bathroom so that we see it every morning. It says, "Everyday is a gift". When your doctor looks at you and says, "if we don't treat this it is 100% fatal", you get a really good idea of what it means that 'Everyday is a gift'. The question that must follow is, 'who gave the gift?'
The doctor and surgeon told me last Spring that they were almost certain that the cancer had not metastasized into my liver. The key word being almost. They were wrong. The P.E.T. CT scan showed that I have 4 spots of cancer on my liver. Three on the right side and one on the left side. They are not very big but indications are that they are fairly fast growing. We will do two cycles of chemo (four doses) in hopes of reducing the size and growth speed of the cancers. Then the surgeons will go in and remove the cancer. I'm pretty sure that this won't be OutPatient Surgery. :O) The possibility of complications is fairly high but I will be treated by one of , if not, the best liver surgeons in the state.
We are in a short holding pattern while we wait on lab results on the genetic breakdown of the colon cancer. Hopefully, we will get the results early next week and will be able to start a chemo regimen that is more chemically correct to defeat this cancer. Regardless we will be starting some form of chemo by next Friday.
The Oncologist and staff that I am seeing now are a much better fit for me than last year's crew. I think I will have a much better chance of success with this group.
This is not good news but it wasn't a surprise to God.
God is good all the time!!

I'm sure you already know that those who love you are saddened by this news. Just wanted to add my voice among them. Beyond sadness that you have to go through this, I'm in awe of your faith and perserverance. You remind me of Simon Peter in John 6 after Jesus teaches an especially hard message.
66-67 After this a lot of his disciples left. They no longer wanted to be associated with him. Then Jesus gave the Twelve their chance: "Do you also want to leave?"
68-69 Peter replied, "Master, to whom would we go? You have the words of real life, eternal life. We've already committed ourselves, confident that you are the Holy One of God."
That is some kind of awesome faith.
I love you,
