Several folks have asked me how the P.E.T. scan went and it was fine but I won't know the results until Friday. "PET (Positron Emission Tomography) and CT (Computed Tomography) scans are both standard imaging tools that physicians use to pinpoint disease states in the body. A PET scan demonstrates the biological function of the body before anatomical changes take place, while the CT scan provides information about the body's anatomy such as size, shape and location. By combining these two scanning technologies, a PET/CT scan enables physicians to more accurately diagnose and identify cancer, heart disease and brain disorders." That is a quote off of one of the PET websites
It was an interesting test. Went to one of the local imaging places and the PET scan 'truck' was parked out back. It's a mobile unit that services several places around Indy. We went out to the truck, they took blood to check sugar levels and injected a traceable radioactive substance. The syringe with the radioactive stuff was in a metal sleeve to protect the nurse/technician. They followed with a dose of saline solution to help push the radioactive substance. After sitting and relaxing for about 35 minutes to let the fluid flow I got onto the table built for an anorexic 80 pound teenager and they rolled me into the scan tube. It's just your standard MRI or CT scan type tube and it was pretty much just like those except for the warning. The warning was don't get close to small children or pregnant women for 6 hours. Hadn't had that one before but since I work with a bunch of old retired men it wasn't much of a challenge.
Again we will find out Friday what they found.
God is good all the time!!

Isaiah 40:26 Look up into the heavens! Who created all these stars? As a shepherd leads his sheep, calling each by its pet name, and counts them to see that none are lost or strayed, so God does with stars and planets! TLB
