We all get a few surprises in our lives. Imagine my surprise when, for a simple surgical procedure, we were billed $853,747.69. I suppose that if they used diamond instruments and gold stitches that price might be possible. But seriously for that kind of money I'd expect to come out of surgery a lot cuter. I know it would be hard for some of you to imagine me any cuter but after looking at this face for 51 years I've come to believe that it just might be possible. :O) Anyway, I called the hospital billing department and they got a good laugh. The bill will be audited and had better come in at a much much smaller number.
The port side issues continue. There is no good way to delicately blog the goings on 'where the sun don't shine'. Suffice is to say that on the 17th I have to go through 2 different muscle tests that sound fairly unpleasant. But are necessary to discern how best to surgically repair the latest mess. To put a smile on the whole sordid affair listen to Bowser & Blue's 'Salute to the ColoRectal Surgeon'. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_N0w2rORwSc
We saw our family doctor last Friday and kind of regrouped. She will track all of the follow up to cancer testing. (One blood test down and 19 to go..........over the next 5 years.) She also told me that it could take a couple more months to get all of the chemo drugs out of my system. I still have the occasional tingling in my hands & feet and I'm more than ready for that to be done.
Pam & I were talking about it the other day and we could put quite a list together of adventures over that past two years. But regardless of the hills and valleys God is good all the time.
