We got one of those phone calls on Thursday afternoon. The man who had been our 'small group' leader at church had been in a bad motorcycle accident. Alan Rivers was an attorney who had gone back to school to get his Masters of Divinity. He was driving back and forth to Louisville so that he could continue his studies at Southern Seminary. He did not survive the accident. But after spending the last few months getting to know Alan, I can say beyond any doubt that he was ready.
Which begs the question -- -- -- are you ready?!?!?
We do not know the hour or the day that we will be called out of this world. It is important to make sure that you are ready.
Please pray for Bobbie, Alan's widow. She will need much support.
